This privacy policy explains how the Einbürgerungstestvorbereitung app ("the App") handles your data.
What Data We Collect
The App uses Aptabase, a privacy-focused analytics service hosted in the European Union (EU instance: A-EU-0107832846), to collect anonymous usage events. These events contain:
- No personally identifiable information (PII)
- No device identifiers or fingerprinting
- No IP addresses
- No cookies

These events are fully anonymous and cannot be linked to any individual user.
Local Storage
Your quiz progress, settings, streak data, achievements, and test history are stored exclusively on your device using local storage (AsyncStorage via Zustand persist). This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to any server.
You can delete all locally stored data at any time via Settings > Reset Progress.
Third-Party Services
The only third-party service used is Aptabase for anonymous analytics.

- Aptabase is GDPR-compliant, operates servers in the EU, and does not use cookies or collect personal data.
No other third-party SDKs, advertising networks, or tracking services are integrated.
Data Retention
- Analytics data: Retained and aggregated by Aptabase according to their data retention policy. Since no personal data is collected, GDPR data subject requests do not apply to analytics.
- Local data: Stored on your device until you either reset your progress in Settings or uninstall the App.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 16 years of age. The App is designed for adults preparing for the German citizenship test (Einbürgerungstest).
Your Rights (GDPR)
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:
- Right to access — All your data is stored locally on your device. There is no server-side data to access.
- Right to erasure — You can delete all local data via Settings > Reset Progress.
- Right to data portability — Not applicable as no personal data is stored on our servers.
- Right to object — Analytics are fully anonymous and cannot be linked to you.
Since the App does not collect, store, or process any personal data on external servers, most GDPR data subject rights are fulfilled by design.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the in-app privacy policy screen. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
